NATIONWIDE -- Black Friday zipped by and the holiday shopping season is in full swing. Monday marks cyber world's version of Black Friday called yber Monday." It's one more chance at the deals and steals for buying your gifts.

There's no place like the mall for children during the holidays, but with all this year-end hustle and bustle, some will argue there's a better place for their parents and their holiday shopping.

"It's just easier to be in your own home, on your own schedule on your own time and be able to point and click," Nathan Romagnola of Fairport said.

Romagnola is an example of a Cyber Monday customer. Shop.org coined the term in 2005. It describes people like Romagnola who admit, the workplace sometimes becomes the marketplace as people go back into the office Monday after Thanksgiving.

"My boss will probably hate me, but yes, sometimes I do," Romagnola said.

Cyber Monday started as a marketing ploy. It's now turned into a frenzy of online deals. A bargain shopping trick customers like Romagnola caught onto.

"I think sometimes I can find a better online price than I can with a sale in a store," Romagnola said.

For more of those deals go to cybermonday.com where you'll find more than 500 online retailers offering one day promotions and sales.

"I'm always up for saving money so if there's some kind of discount to make the purchase online, I can see myself doing that," Kevin Condon of Webster said.

Cyber Monday's promotions also reel in shoppers like Condon who say the Internet isn't usually his thing.

"I like to touch it, I like to see it before I buy it," Condon said.

No matter the pros or cons, Monday's point and click kind of deals have shoppers like Romagnola more relaxed about the hectic shopping season so many started on Friday.

"I think it saves people from heading out to crowded shopping malls. I'll probably take advantage of it," Romagnola said.
